Things to be careful about when buying a phone

  • by Alice

Hello, audience. This time, I will share as technology knowledge about what kind of phone should be bought and what kind of phone should not be bought. Nowadays, everyone has a phone and is using the internet well. Also, in today’s social lifestyle, a phone is an essential item.

For children and students to study, for young people to use for work, for social media, and for older people to relax and reduce boredom — a mobile phone is indispensable for everyone. In the market, mobile phones of many brands and many models are entering in competition every day. As choices increase, design and technology are also attracting users in different ways.

Among so many, what kind of phone should you choose?

This is really something to think about. The phone you buy must match your budget, must suit the way you will use it, and must have quality that lasts for the long term. I want you to prioritize and think about these points. Only then will it be convenient for you and give you peace of mind for long‑term use. So let’s consider these points together.

1. Budget Level
In the current market, if we divide all phones by price, there are three types:

  1. Budget Level
  2. Mid Range Level
  3. High Range Level

Depending on the amount of money you will spend, you need to know which level is suitable.

If your money is limited, consider the budget level. But even in the budget level, you should choose a phone that has a suitable SOC and hardware that can be used well for the long term.

For example:
If you choose a budget level phone, you should not prioritize too much on high functions, features, and excellent cameras. If you prioritize those, after about two years your phone will start to have inconveniences. The reason is because your phone is budget level, the SOC and hardware used are cheaper ones. Because of this, after about two years of use, the SOC and hardware will no longer be able to support the high features of your phone well. That will cause inconveniences. So if you choose a budget level phone, you should be careful about this point.

2. Mid Range Level
In the mid range level, there are many choices. Many brands, many models, many features are competing in the market. Among them, you need to choose a phone that will be convenient for you in the long term. The first thing to consider is the brand. For any product, brand is important. There are many brands such as Apple, Samsung, Google Pixel. But the brands I just mentioned are high range level brands in our country. In mid range levels, it is difficult to find these brands. The most common brands in mid range levels are Huawei, Xiaomi, Redmi, Vivo, Oppo, and many other new brands.

The first thing to consider is which brand can give you quality that matches the money you pay. More than functions and features, compact quality and long‑term smooth performance are more important.

For example:
Some mid range level phones have functions and features that seem to compete with high range level phones. But in reality, they cannot compete. This is because of the quality of the hardware and SOC used. Users at that level know this.

Apple phones, when a new model is released, always come out in the market with the highest price. But compared to other Android phones, they do not come with extra functions or features.
So why are they expensive?
The main difference is the chip and hardware. Apple’s A19 Bionic chip has noticeably better long‑term performance than the Snapdragon chip used in Android phones. Also, the hardware used in Apple phones, even if not much better than Android phones, is carefully used to ensure long‑term support for its system.

Therefore, when choosing a mid range level phone, it is important to ensure long‑term smooth performance.

3. High Range Level
In this level, choose what you like. The price is high and the quality is also good. Just choose Android or iOS as you like, no need to think too much. But I want you to consider security and spare parts.

Final Thoughts

These are the points to consider when buying a phone. Think about price and performance, and long‑term stability. Most people look only at functions and features when buying. But what you should really look at are the SOC and hardware. Finally, even if you do not know about hardware, you should at least know what type of chip is used for the SOC. For example, Snapdragon, MediaTek, Helio, and many other types exist. For long‑term performance, Snapdragon is the best. This is for Android. For iOS, there is only one type, the A Bionic chip.

These are the things you should know about mobile phones.
